On occasions like the Pongal, the Marina Beach sees an arrival of more than 2 lakhs tourists and devotees rejoicing in the festivity. Even the Chennai Marathon, which is dubbed as India’s biggest city marathon, starts from the Anna Square, takes a tour of the city and ends at the beach. Over the year, the spot has also been a favourable one amongst the Tamil movie makers for filming songs and action sequences.
For the tourists, apart from sightseeing, there are skating arena, joggers track and an aquarium. You can also go for pony rides, merry-go-rounds and giant wheels which are perfect for tourists with kids.
